George Tichbourne Obituary

GEORGE E. TICHBOURNE Loving Soulmate, Entrepreneur, World Renown Cutler George leaves behind a legacy that will be difficult to follow. Deeply missed by family, friends and business associates. At home with his wife Carol by his side George has moved forward to start a new phase of his being. Over the course of his life, George has above all else always been a kind gentle man willing to share his knowledge, and tall tales with all. Working his way up from a youngster picking fruit to owning and operating his own well known metal polishing business George earned the reputation of being a good man to deal with and someone who would do his best to help you when needed. At the same time he started making knives as a hobby and over the years turned this into a full time business and how he earned his living. Liked to best express to everyone that he made Functional Art . No longer with us in body his spirit will live on in all who knew him. George had a gentle way of becoming a part of everyone he became acquainted with. May he now Rest in Peace. Special Thanks to our family Dr. Brian Aw, who has seen George through some very difficult times. Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Road (north of Lawrence Ave. W.), Weston on Thursday from 4-9 p.m. and Friday from 2-9 p.m. A complete funeral Service will be held at North Bramalea United Church, 363 Howden Blvd. on Saturday at 11 a.m. A Please visit a Book of Memories at www.wardfuneralhome.com

George was always the calm in the storm, never rattled, always pleasant.
He was an entrepaneur in the true sence of the word.
Sadly missed, always remembered.

George was a valued friend and made me several knives I will always treasure. Tho I may have had a difference now and then, I will always admire and respect both he and Carol. I shall miss him and my thoughts and prayers go out to Carol. Sincerely, Chic Birdsong

George was a great knife maker. I purchased one of his wonderful French voyageur knives for my father. It is a treasure. He touched many lives. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
