I Will Remember
(dedicated to the late Vera Jacyk)
--by Bohdan Sirant, 2012

I will remember
Her radiant smile
And the lightness of her laugh
Her sparkle
Her graceful and easy gait
(She could walk that extra mile)
Her kindness, gentleness
And generosity
Her willingness to wait
Her courage and commitment
Her conscientiousness
(She cared
And was almost never late)
Her compassion
Her courtesy
Her candor
Her calm competence
Her insight and perceptiveness
And I will fondly contemplate
With reverence
In years remaining hence
The purpose, poignancy and
Power of her art
Her quiet intelligence
That moved the mind and
Touched the heart
She created beauty
And yes, oh yes
She walked in beauty

What a loss...what a loss. Vera Jacyk was truly noble in the finest sense. I was privileged to have known Vera. I think also of her profound and powerful works which I think about often. I will always cherish her memory. We are diminished by her passing.
