RAY STAPLES Obituary

RAY STAPLES November 12, 1919 - July 16, 2012 Our Ray of sunshine has passed this Monday, July 16, 2012 and all who knew her are saddened by the loss of her love, her humour and her direct approach to life. She lived a rich 92 years with vivacity and flair. She was like no other and we are blessed to have shared our lives with her. Ray excelled in a fifty year career as an Interior Designer. In 1965, she joined the Interior Designers of Ontario (IDO) serving two terms as president and was a driving force in creating ARIDO. Her television career included hosting the design show "Inside/Outside" and as a regular guest designer on CityLine's "Home Day". Above all she loved her work, her family and her husband of 62 years, Everett Staples (predeceased). She leaves behind her beloved son Kevan Staples, daughter-in-law Marilyn Kiewiet, adored granddaughter Sacha Staples and great- granddaughter Sienna, beloved nieces Elaine and Carrie Loring, Elaine's husband Sam Bornstein, their children as well as extended family and numerous friends. A special Thank You to the caring doctors and staff of both Christie Gardens Retirement Community and Toronto Western Hospital. In memory of Ray, please repaint that beige living room a vibrant, happy colour that makes your heart sing, as she made our lives sing. A "Celebration of Life" event will take place in the fall. Loved watching her on Cityline..my favorite saying went something like "all the trees in the forest don't match, the wood in your house doesn't have too" You will be missed. RIP Ray

I loved watching this amazing lady on Cityline. She was so awesome. Just loved her design comments and how she hated anything matchy poo. Rest In Peace Ray.

So sorry to hear about Ray.
LOVED her parting wishes . . . I immediately resurected my leopard print toss cushions. Painting the place will take a bit longer.
