MOIRA STRAUGHAN (ROSE) After a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 65 years old and surrounded by love Moira passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Thursday, November 22, 2012. She will be sadly missed by husband Jim Miller and will be forever in the hearts of sons Paul Straughan (Erin) and Cameron Straughan (Emma). She was a devoted Grandmother "MoMo" to Colton Straughan. Moira will be remembered fondly by Karen Miller (Kyle and Kate), Tina Roberge (Hannah and Connor). With family roots in Blyth, England, Moira was the cherished sister of Hilary Miller (Peter), Edwina Crompton (John), Brenda Falconer (John), Malcolm Rose (Wilma) and Janet Cole. Moira worked for the Mobility Plus Services of the Transportation Department at the Region of York for over 20 years. She treated everyone with respect and will be remembered by those she helped. Moira enjoyed being in her gardens, feeding the birds and the chipmunks. Moira promised to all those she loved that if you see a butterfly stop and land near you on a warm summer's day it will be her way of stopping by to say "hello." "Don't weep at my grave for I am not there. I've a date with a butterfly to dance on the air." It was Moira's wish that donations be made in her honour to the Princess Margaret Hospital or to the .
