I had the honor of meeting Paul Duff in his little art gallery next to his home. A very talented man. I was visiting the Porter's in Sauble Beach. I was lucky enough to get a signed copy of his autobiography book he had written very interesting man and lots of adventure in his life. Rest in peace Paul Duff.
Painted when he was 16 and sold when he was 18 at an auction with the group of seven. He proudly states he sold it for more that their pieces of art. Too funny

We had the fortune to buy some of Paul's earlier work a small collection of several of his pieces he had created when he was in Brazil. We contacted Paul and asked if we could come meet him and show him the collection we had and to get the story around each of the creations. So we headed to the Bruce and met Paul and interviewed him asking about each piece of art and its significance. Paul was gracious and funny and spent hours taking us through his early career and life abroad. Very giving of his time and advice to my artist wife Rozanna....Thank You Paul long may you live on through your gift.

It was a shock to hear of Paul passing away. I am so sorry for your loss. Paul was an excellent artist and teacher. My mother and I were his students in the one and art class he taught in Wiarton at the Artist Co-op when it was where the Tea House is now. He stated that he would not teach an art class again because he didn't have the patients for it anymore, Ha Ha. He helped Kathy immensely with her drawing and painting of people. Paul told me that I was his inspiration for his Wolves. He helped me with my drawings and paintings of the wolf and shortly before the course ended, he said he stated to paint the wolf and was going to paint a series of them. He did just that. We have seen him in passing and always wanted to see his gallery. He always told us that he would like to show us his studio and gallery. Unfortunately it never happened before he passed away. We always tried but Kathy became so ill that she couldn't make the trip from Wiarton. We really tried to make a point of visiting. He was a great story teller of his travels and gave us some important lessons in that class that we will never forget. I am sure Paul is in heaven with paint brush in hand searching for his next inspiration. May you have as many great memories of Paul as he as giving to all that he inspired. RIP Paul. You may be gone but not forgotten
