VERA KORINEK

July 7, 1951 – January 30, 2016

Passed away peacefully at home, after a courageous two-year battle with cancer. Adored wife of Jan; beloved mother of Barbara (Justin) and Matthew (Rachel); cherished grandmother ("Babi") of Jackson and Tyler; treasured daughter of Gabriela and sister of Jitka (Palo). She will be fondly remembered by her entire extended family and all of her dear friends. She was an inspiration to everyone who knew her and touched the lives of so many through her passion for work, sports, theatre, music and the great outdoors. She will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, wisdom and mischievous smile, with that ever-present twinkle in her eye. Her wonderful sense of humour and zest for life were unparalleled. Friends are welcome to gather with the family to celebrate her extraordinary life and legacy during visitation and/or memorial service at McDougall & Brown Funeral Home, Scarborough Chapel, 2900 Kingston Road, Toronto. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 12th from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. The memorial service will be on Saturday, February 13th at 11:00 a.m., followed by a short reception. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the . Vera will remain forever in our hearts and memories.
