MIHALY TANCSA

MIHALY (MIKE) TANCSA Passed away peacefully at Columbia Forest Long Term Care Centre on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at the age of 87. Beloved husband of Judit for 63 years, father of Mike Tancsa and Judy Tancsa (Robert Switzer) and grandfather of James and Michael. A player in the Hungarian National Basketball League, Mihaly had a life long belief in athleticism and natural medicine. In 1956, Mihaly and Judit immigrated to Canada to start a new life away from the political turmoil of Europe. They made their home in Willowdale and raised two children. He worked for the City of Toronto as a Surveyor and had probably mapped every part of the city over the course of his career. In the evenings, he worked for Simpsons in the shipping and receiving department. He was a dedicated father and grandfather and was a very friendly and social man through his entire life.
