We were both shocked and saddened to find that dear Marcello has passed. He was such a wonderful artist and kind man. We loved when he and Eileen came to the Buckhorn Art Festival. We had many wonderful conversations and laughs together. Our deepest condolences to his family. He will be greatly missed by family, friends, and art lovers . May God cradle him in His loving arms.
With affection,
Michael and Ellen Dumas

Dear Eileen,
I would like you to know that I still have your beloved Marcello's opening invitation, to meet the artist. Marcello's opening was on Wednesday, 21 April, 1982. The Exhibition was held at Art Invesco Gallery. On the invite was a photograph of a little boy, on a horse, like the horses on caro . I had a son, in 1984, named Andrew, and I placed Marcello's photograph, entitled "Andy's Dream" right above my son's bed. It now hangs on my wall. Every time I look at this photograph, I am reminded of your Marcello, and you. I only just discovered that Marcello passed. I am so sorry for your loss. I will always remember Marcello, and his work, as well as you...such a kind person. My condolences to you, your son, and the whole family. Mary

How spooky. For some strange reason Marcello's name came up in a conversation about my youth. He and his family moved in across the street from our family on Delaware Ave about 1954-55. When l started grade 5 (possibly grade 4) he was about 15. The teacher, Miss Ardill (or McLead) gave me the job of teaching him English at the back of the room. At Christmas, he drew a mural on the side blackboard with coloured chalk which the teacher left up for weeks. I think he lrft school when he turned 16.
Franco was my age and we played together outside of school. The Febbos were probably the first Italian family on our street.
What spooked me out is that Marcello died 3 years ago today. I probably haven't thought about him for many years.
If you are reading this it might make this day a little brighter for you.

I just googled Marcellos name and was surprised to hear of his death. My deceased husband and I purchased many of Marcellos works. To this day they hang in my main hall. I am so sorry for your loss. He was such a talented man.

I just learned about the passing of Marcello. When I was in High School, I would cover Marcello's job at the Canada Trust. This allowed him to coordinate the art show in front of the office building. For 4 summers in the 1970's, he was a great friend. My mother bought one of his prints, which I cherish to this day. He was a good man, very funny and very generous with his time. I'm sorry to hear this news, but this did allow me to remember him and the times we spent together.

Eileen, So sad to hear of Marcello's passing. He and I met long ago at the beginning of our artistic journeys. Our meetings along the way were always creative and enjoyable. He lives on in his remarkable body of work.

A luminous presence in my life when I was barely out of my teens! His friendship was to change my life for the better forever. I am immensely grateful for having had the opportunity to know him both as an artist and a a man. My heartfelt sympathies to all his family ( I remember those wonderful Sunday lunches at the house on Delaware!) and to his wife Eileen.
