Joso SPRALJA

SPRALJA, Joso May 23, 1929 – August 8, 2017 Joso passed away peacefully, in his sleep, on August 8, 2017, in Zadar, Croatia. Loving husband to his late wife Angiolina (October 2012), he is survived by his devoted daughter and son, Elena and Leo, his daughter-in-law Shirley and his grandchildren Jean-Marc, Alexandra, Marko and Olivia. A magnanimous man, an accomplished personality and artist, Joso brought a unique culture to the city of Toronto and leaves an impressive legacy for so many to enjoy. How lucky we all are to have Joso's legendary establishment to welcome us, impress us, feed us, influence our senses and elevate us all to a place where dreams are realized. A veritable master in all that he touched, Joso created an Adriatic oasis that will always remind us of the exceptional artist, musician, restaurateur, chef, host and Renaissance man that he was. Having served the Toronto community for over 50 years, Joso will be remembered with great affection and respect by his longstanding and loyal employees: Paul, Fatima, Manuel O., Manuel M., Marnie, Ursula, Zerha, Mario, Natalia, Denia, Adelia, Gracinda (and many, many more), as well as countless patrons. May his family and friends all be comforted by the fact that their adored Joso has joined his Angiolina and a heavenly host of angels that celebrate his arrival.
