SUSAN FULFORD Obituary
Adoring mother to Harrison James Fulford, beloved daughter of David (deceased 2016) and Barbara Fulford, dear sister of Gary (deceased 2011) and wife Christine, Gail Cornelius and Janet Dava Fulford.
Susan passed at fifty-seven years, on April 22, 2021, after nine months of gallantly fighting her second bout (2011) of cancer. Her desperate plea to be with her 14-year-old son for just another birthday was denied. Hope on the horizon suddenly vanished when tests revealed cancer had invaded her brain. In life Susan was enchanted with the opportunities the world offered. She wanted to learn and explore every avenue from skiing, sailing, to a Formula One driver, to learning Reiki, to travelling the world, to living in France for two years, to volunteering for numerous support groups all her life. January 2020, she was named Breast Cancer Ambassador. Her work history reflects a broad experience in investment, legal and family business. For over ten years, Susan worked in the investment industry, most notably as VP & Senior Manager of Ultra High Net Worth Advisory Group of TD Bank. Initially she spent 5 years working as a lawyer in private practice followed by ten years in the business world including a 2-year engagement for Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu as Europe's Business Development Manager for audits, Globe Financial Service Industries. In 2015, she founded Dynamic Legacy. She was devoted and enthused by it and her belief in the need of this assistance was attested by the number of interested families. She has provided collaborative and independent advisory services for Single, Multi and Global Family Offices and Business Families. The value of this type of of assistance was her passion and in 2016, she established The Institute of Family Enterprise Stewards. Above all these pursuits, Susan's life-driving force and number one priority was to provide her son with all the love and opportunities to develop and achieve his potential and desires. She introduced him to her world of wonderment, of seeking, of learning, of humanity. To quote Lord Byron "she walks in beauty like the night". Susan personified beauty and harmony of mind and body. In body she has left us. In mind she is unforgettable and a driving, inspiring, loving source. And we will love thee still until all the seas run dry. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private service will be held. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Princess Margaret Lymphoma Bone and Brain Research would be appreciated.

I just found this site and was unaware of the Susan's passing. Susan counselled my family on financial advice and also advised me on my wife's cancer battle which she lost in 2016. Susan also consoled me on her passing and I shared a walk on the beach and a movie with she and Harrison, Another lovely and caring person lost to this horrible disease.

She gave me financial advice. It was the best financial advice I ever received.

I had the pleasure of working with Susan during our summer job experience programs at ‘Revenue Canada’ in ‘84 and ‘85. Her charm and sense of humour, I still fondly remember all these years later. I was deeply saddened to hear of her passing. My condolences and prayers are with her family. Susan you have made an impression with many and have been a blessing to all those around you.

First and foremost I would like to tell Sue's family how sorry I am for their loss . It was not a surprise to read what a full life Sue lived ! My memories from Highschool are of a friend that clearly had a unique path ahead . I remember her love of History and her gift of the written word . Sue was fun, intelligent and an independent women ! I shared the love of skiing and we enjoyed day trips to the slopes in Ontario , with one trip ending in us shoveling her car out of the drifts ( lots of laughs / giggles ) Our paths didn't cross often after University , but I'm so grateful that our high school group of girls jointly celebrated our 50th Birthdays together in Niagara on the Lake . Sue you will be missed and you will be remembered !

Harrison, such a beautiful note, yes your mom was an outstanding person and a wonderful strong funny smart caring individual that loves you so deeply. Your loss and ours at this moment is truly difficult. Your mom was a spectacular friend for over 30+ years we had such good times! So many fun stories to share with you! She was maid of honour at my wedding and we were pregnant at the same time! You’re her pride and joy! I’m so grateful for the time spent together. Hey, if you're reading this you knew my mom and wanted to maybe write a note or see what other people had to say about her, unfortunately I'm a little late to doing this, I totally forgot this existed. I just want to say thank you to everyone who wrote or will continue to write in this and I appreciate everything you've done either for Susan, or anyone else in relation, I'm sure losing her really sucks, trust me, I know. You are all good people and I'm sorry you have to go through this as well. She was an outstanding person and an irreplaceable mom, I will miss her just as much as you.

My condolences to Harrison and Susan's Family.
Susan was a friend of my Mom's, and when my Mom passed away, she made a point of filling a void. She became a friend and a mentor as I ventured out to start my own business. She was that type of giving person, always willing to help others. I will forever be grateful that she chose to keep me in her life and if I can pay it forward, I will. Susan will be greatly missed.

Susan was an inspiration in both business and personal life. We had the pleasure of recently taking our friendship to the next level in going into business together. She was the consummate professional with a tremendously positive outlook. She managed the many pillars of her life with grace and elegance. I strive to live up to her example as we move forward.

My heart is broken with losing such an amazing friend. I will sadly miss Susan's wonderful spirit and vibrant enthusiasm that were her signature.
