Very sorry to hear about Peter´s passing. Growing up next door to Peter and his family brings back many good memories! Reading about his accomplishments are not a surprise and as a kid he was always a hero to me and was happy to hear he was still helping people in his later years.
Peter was a tough man with a big heart and a sense of warmth and proud to have known him.

Lost a very special friend - one of the most courageous guys I have ever known with one of the nicest families you will ever meet - really a legend in many circles. I had the pleasure of having him as one of my squash partners and acted as counsel on many of his "Silverman Helps" shows. He was kind and had one of the driest wits this side of the Reo Grande. Brilliant and kind and will be missed. RIP my friend. We will take it from here.

Peter was so brilliant and amicable while at CityTV. Not afraid to take a chance and a great example for those of us who had the pleasure of working with him at the television station. God Speed Peter and thank you.

A loss to family, friends and humanity. Mr. Silverman took on many battles for the underdog, and stood up for those that did not have the resources to fight for themselves. A true voice that took the first steps to help those in need. To the family, I am sorry for your loss, and know Peter has inspired many - including me, to help those in need.
Respectfully

After a day rehabbing a hospital, and building bridges in Africa, this was Peter. An image forever locked in my mind

25 years ago I got to spend Peter’s 65th birthday with him, doing what he loved: helping others. We were in Rwanda at the time, and it was a life altering experience. The pic in the obit came from that trip as well - that was Peter. A sly smile, a quick wit, and always willing to do what it took. He was and will always be a hero amongst men. The world will be less safe, less charismatic, and less whole without him. Rest well my friend, this round is on me.

I was a member of the Governor General Horse Guards with Peter as one of our officers. There was never a dull moment at CFB Borden with Peter running the war games. He was a great leader and one of the most interesting, inteligent and intriguing person I ever met. My sympathy and condolences to Peter's family.

I'm so sad to hear about, Peter. I loved his segments on CityTV and missed him very much after he left. He was so brave dealing with the people he was exposing.
My condolences to his family and the great loss in their lives. He was one of the good guys.
