I was very saddened to read in the Queen's Review of Carla's passing. I went to school with Carla in Kingston and will always remember her warmth and friendliness. Even then, it was obvious that she would go on to make a great contribution. She will be missed by many.

I am over 91 now. Back in the early '80s when Dr. Eisenhauer accepted me as a patient I hoped as my trust in her grew that she would see me through. I was filled with sorrow to hear of her untimely death. I must be content that she served me and so many others for as long as she did.

I have just learned of Carla's passing and feel very sad about this terrible loss. Carla was my doctor for a number of years and walked with me through a workplace harassment case when I needed to be off work. She stood up for me, and expressed solidarity with my right to work in a healthy workplace. Her view of health encompassed the physical, spritual & psychological aspects of her patients and I think this is what made her such a great doctor. She saw her patients as whole beings, and always took time to ask how we were in our hearts. Our community & our nation has lost a dedicated, loyal and very talented woman. My thoughts are with her husband and loved ones. Please know she will be deeply missed & fondly remembered for years to come.

So very sad to hear of Carla's passing. She was a great physician that worked well with people of all ages - the Clinic was so lucky to have her. My son use to say "see you later alligator, after a while crocodile" Dr. Carla taught him "real soon baboon" - Something he still says to this day. I'll think of her everytime I hear him use her phrase. God Bless.

What a tragic loss to all those who had the privilege of knowing Dr. Carla. She told me that I was her first delivery with the Community Clinic shortly after I had given birth to my son last year. I appreciated her ability to relate to me and will deeply miss the chats we had about her times in medical school. She had a great sense of humour and could always put me at ease. Dr. Carla always empowered me to make informed decisions about my health and took the utmost pride in her chosen profession. She will be greatly missed. My condolencese to her beloved family and friends.

To Roderick all of Carla's family:
Carla has been a part of our families lives for 26 years. As she delivered our son she told us this was going to be a long friendship and it was. She has cared for my husband, myself and our four children and began to care for our grandchildren. My husband tells everyone he knows that he would never be the person he is today emotionally or physically with out Carla helping him through recovery and pain managment from a sever accident. She was not only our family Dr. but our marriage counsellor when our appointments included tea. Carla was the true meaning of Family Physician. We share in your loss and thank you for for sharing Carla with us.

Myself and my children were priviliged to call Carla our doctor and - more than this - a caring friend. Her calm down to earth reasoning and sense of humour saw us through some dark times. We respected her, trusted her and relied on her. It is hard to accept that her warm and generous spirit is not with us any longer. We are so sad; and send loving support.

I was shocked when I heard of Dr. Eisenhauer's death. She was an amazing doctor to myself, my daughters and grandchildren since her start at the Community Clinic. If she didn't know the answer to what was wrong, she would find out or send you to someone who knew the answer. She was a very caring doctor and always gave patients the time needed. She will be sorely missed as a doctor. Our condolences to all family, co-workers and patients of Dr. Carla Eisenhauer.

To Dr. Eisenhauer's Family
I was very saddened to learn of her passing away earlier this week. I want you all to know that you will be in my thoughts and prayers. Our family members had the pleasure of knowing Dr. Eisenhauer for more than 25 years. She was my family physician, my sister's physician, my children's physician & my grandchildren's physician until she became ill. She was a very caring Doctor and I respected her opinions and advise very much. The numerous pictures of the children posted in her office, which she helped bring into this world was testimony of the love and respect given to her. It was an awesome display. The 2010 Family Physician of the Year awarded to her earlier this year, was also well deserved and a sign of her dedication and committment to family health care. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May the love and support of family & friends help you all through out the coming days ahead. May she rest in peace.
