Frederick "Fred" De Both
February 5, 1934 – August 29, 2017
It is with deep sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Fred De Both on August 29, 2017. Fred was born in Regina on February 5, 1934. He started his career in Estevan working various jobs until he settled in his career with Canada Post. He remained there until his retirement in 1989. Throughout his life he enjoyed all kinds of sports. He was especially fond of hockey, having coached and organized junior hockey in Estevan. His love of sports continued as his children and grandchildren became involved. Fred was a man of great faith. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, having served on two councils and volunteered many years with the Knights of Columbus Indoor Games. Fred was predeceased by his parents Frank and Elizabeth and his sister Bette. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Yvonne; his son Mark (Kathy); daughters Lisa (Tom) and Valerie (Ken) along with eight grandchildren and one great-grandson. The family extends sincere gratitude to the staff at Sherbrooke Community Centre for their loving care while Fred was a resident there. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan, 2550 12 Ave, Regina, SK S4P 3X1. The Vigil of Prayer for Fred will be held on Sunday, September 3, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Augustine Parish, 602 Boychuk Drive.
