Dad was born in Rose Valley, SK on May 2, 1940. When Dad moved to Saskatoon in 1956 he landed a job at the Western Stockyards, where he worked for 30 years. Later Dad worked at Sask Pork Industry, and then drove bus for First Bus Canada. Dad met and married the love of his life, Rose Marie Petruk on April 24, 1959. Dad and Mom had four sons, Albert, Roger, Cameron, Gordon Jr. They raised their four sons south of Saskatoon on Preston Avenue. Dad and Mom were active members of Dusty Spurs Riding Club as well as Saskatoon Gymkhana Club. Dad spent many years showing horses with his family almost every weekend and also trophy shows. Throughout the years Dad had a love for all animals, especially horses, cows and pigs. Dad was also actively involved with coaching his boys, both in broomball and hockey. As Dad got a little older he became timekeeper for the Saskatoon Broomball League. Dad never missed an opportunity to go and time keep at the Gold Broom Tournament. Dad was also involved with harness racing. Dad's greatest enjoyment in life was to sit and drink coffee and talk with family and friends. Dad also loved to pull little pranks, tease his grandchildren and sing them his songs. The family would like to thank Dr. Goluboff, Dr. Spafford, Amy Gantefoer, the Home Care Palliative Care Nurses and team that spent countless hours of care and support for Dad and the support always offered to Cam and Dorothy. And a very special thank you to Josh Ens for praying with Uncle Gordon and to Dorothy for her constant care of Dad. Dorothy, he loved everything you did for him.
