Gordon Belfour Memoriam

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 13, 2010.
In Memory of GORDON BELFOUR A Million Miles A Million Memories Dad Just the other day I was driving down the highway, the same highway I've travelled a million times with you. I looked over at the empty passenger seat where you once sat, I began to cry. With tears gently rolling down my face, my mind drifted off. My first thought was that it is so hard to believe one year has come and gone. While driving with you once, I commented that you and I probably travelled a million miles together and made a million memories. We were always together in the last 6 years of your life. We did everything together. I learned so much from you in this short time together. I remember pulling calves and lambs, hauling cows, horses, pigs, making hay, hauling hay. The memories of the work we'd do with the Foster boys, the special, special bond with Eddie and Little Cam, the way you would tease Dorothy just to get a laugh out of her. The many coffee's, the gatherings with family and friends and your gift for conversation. I remember Dad when you were diagnosed with cancer. Our eyes met instantly, then you said -Promise me I can die at home I told you that you didn't have to ask and so this journey began. I remember the surgery, the aneurysm, the near fatal infection, the trip to the hospital, the doctors and the Cancer Clinic. The many mixed emotions Love, Anger, Frustration, just to name a few. I know you took great comfort in knowing your Grandson Josh was sitting with you through the nights, also great comfort and pride in your great nephew Josh coming to pray with you and for you. Your eyes would just shine. I am very honoured to have built these memories with you Dad, you are missed more than any words can express. Love you Dad, miss you lots. Remember, you were the wind beneath my wings. Thanks for being my Dad. Wishing you and Mom a Happy 2nd Valentine's Day after 27 years apart. Love Cam, Dorothy, Josh.
