Gordon Park

GORDON HAROLD PARK Gordon passed away at Davidson Health Centre, Davidson, SK on Sunday, February 14th, 2010 at the age of 70 years. He was born June 21st, 1939 at Guelph, ON where he was chosen by Montie and Lena Park and raised as an only child. At the age of 15 years he left home and began his working career. In 1966 his wife, Edna (Young) and two children moved to Calgary, AB where his third child was born. His business brought him to Bassano and he was active in the Bassano community with the Kinsmen, Elks, Arena Management, Minor Hockey and Ball and the Fire Department. Always searching; he relocated his life in 1985 to the Saskatoon area where he has worked and resided since. In July, 2004 he fell in love and married Susan who was by his side to the end. He was a jack of many trades; best described as an entrepreneur. He was a truck driver both long and short hauls, a dairy farmer, a salesman, a boot repairman and water treatment operator. He will be remembered for his love and ability to provide for his family, his strong work ethic and his passion for animals and driving. His hobbies were wood refinishing, buying at Auctions sales and camping. Gordon was predeceased by his parents, (both biological and adoptive); two uncles and aunts; and son, Terry Brian (1963-1999). He is survived by his wife, Susan; his children, Kelly (Doug) Christman, Bassano, AB; Darryl of Windsor, ON; grandchildren, Della and Kyle Christman and Abby Schelske-Park of AB; step-sister, Jeanette (Freddie) Buchannan, ON and cousin, Bonnie (Larry) Blackburn, ON; as well as Susan's three children, Jody, Kimberly, Danny and their families. At Gordon's request his ashes will be interred at a small family gathering at a later date.
