Kenneth Walter Rice
Ken Rice of Saskatoon, formerly of Asquith, passed away December 16, 2016 at the age of 81 years. Ken was born in Asquith and after a few years spent in BC with his family returned to Asquith where he spent most of his life. Ken met and married Dot Cattell in 1963. They lived and worked together tirelessly for most of their married life in Asquith. Through the years Ken was a mixed farmer, including dairy, raising cattle, and grain farming. Ken's love of the outdoors made this a great occupation for him. Later, Ken would work as a welder at Flexi-Coil while continuing to farm. Ken valued his family first and foremost. Many good times were had and memories made over the years with family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Ken was predeceased by his wife Lorena "Dot" Rice, his parents Gordon and Nancy Rice, his brother Bud Rice, his sister Shirley Friesen, and his great-granddaughter Madelyn Rael Watt. Ken is survived by his daughters Deb (Ron) Burwell, their children Jill (Bob) and her son Brett, Brandi (Don) and their son Carter, and Jodi (Wade) Brissaw, their daughters Jessyca and Jayla, and his brothers Denny (Sharon) and Keith Rice. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 6 at the Asquith Baptist Church, Asquith, SK. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Asquith Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to MARTENS WARMAN FUNERAL HOME (306-934-4888).
