Robert Gillies December 5, 1969 March 31, 2012 It is with heavy hearts we regretfully announce the passing of Rob after his brave battle with cancer. Rob was predeceased by his sister, Helen and leaves to mourn his loving parents, Don and Emma; his brothers, Dwayne (Shar) and Darwin (Collette); his nieces, Kendra (Levi) and Morgan; and his nephews, Erik and Brenden. Rob touched many lives. He was a fun loving guy who enjoyed biking and being outdoors. Rob especially enjoyed playing scrabble and poker with his family. He could talk at length about his many passions including anything to do with comics, movies, work, family and friends. Rob will be sorely missed by his extended family and friends. Rob always held out hope for a cure. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (Saskatoon Unit, 101-440 2nd Ave. N, S7K 2C3). A Memorial Service for Rob will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home (east on 8th St., first right past Briargate Rd.). Family and friends may send online condolences from the website . Arrangements entrusted to Megan Kasper.

I knew Rob and became close friends for the last 5 or more years.

I admired how hard he fought this illness. Even after the initial diagnosis. Rob stayed strong, we spent the entire summer biking, Rob really loved biking, we also went walking at the field house when it got cold.

Rob never gave up and spent the majority of his time doing the things he liked. I admire him for not giving up and fighting.

Rob will be missed.

A few weeks ago Rob invited me over to his place. I was happy to be there and to meet his very nice parents.

I pray now for Rob, his parents ,brothers
and all family members and friends that were touched by Rob.
