Garry Hassard

GARRY WAYNE HASSARD 1937 2010 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend. Garry passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 28th, 2010 at the age of 72. He was born at Buchanan, SK and attended high school there where he made many of his lifelong friends. The majority of his working career was spent as a territory manager for Cockshutt/White Farm Equipment and then New Noble. The family moved several times but mainly resided in the Canora-Yorkton area where Garry had a special fondness for the summer home at Good Spirit Lake (Canora Beach). He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Leona (nee Matsalla); daughter, Val (Dan) Lemke of Calgary; and son, Doug (Lori) Hassard of Saskatoon. He was very proud of his four granddaughters, Anna and Kim Hassard and Shannon and Paige Lemke. He is also survived by a brother, Lawrence of Thompson, MB and several nieces and nephews. Garry was predeceased by his parents, Ted and Bella; his brother, Delmer; two sisters-inlaw, Lil and Pauline and nephew, Terry. Garry's life will be honored and celebrated with a Memorial Service on Thursday, March 4th, at 1:30 p.m. at the Sierras of Erindale Sierras Room 3rd Floor (325 Keevil Cres).
