ARTHUR NEIL RICE (Bud)
Bud passed away unexpectedly and peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, February 20, 2013. He was born July 27, 1938. Bud is survived by his loving wife, Donna; his four children, Corrie, Kelly, Karen and Brad; son-in-law, Jim; daughter-in-law, Joanie. Also his grandchildren, Shane, Valerie (Darryl), Carrissa, Amy and Brandon; and great- grandsons, Halen and Caelum. Bud is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Ken, Keith, Denny, Barry, Shirley, Lynne, Janice and their families; brother- and sisters-in-law, Norm, Wenda, Darlene and their families. He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Jamie Stack, whom he missed greatly; mother, Nancy; dad, Gordon; step-mother, Doris; also his nephews, Les and Todd Friesen. Bud left home at a young age and his first job was building elevators, then he went to work for Weights and Measures. Bud then started working on the dairy farm for Wilf Beirnes, Donna's dad. Bud and Donna were married March 30, 1959, an Easter weekend that had no snow. Bud dairyed for a number of years, then went to beef cattle. During this time he also worked at Flexi-Coil where he spent over 20 years. After retirement he couldn't sit still so he went to work for the Kielstra's where he enjoyed working on their farm. Bud enjoyed spending time with his family and had a special relationship with his grandkids. Many hours were spent playing cards, enjoying family meals, attending/ watching sporting events and cheering for his beloved Blackhawks. The Funeral Service will be held at Asquith Baptist Church on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Josh Goetz presiding.
