Please accept my deepest condolences at Kemble's passing. I worked with him at the SC Department of Education and appreciated his dedication to literacy education, his intelligence, and his wonderful wit. With deepest sympathy, Susan White (Columbia, SC)

I was Kinbell's (I called him Shu) roommate at Sewanee, fraternity brother and served in his wedding to Connie. We kept in touch by phone. Shu was a wonderful story teller - how he played football at Dreher and on a kickoff ran down the field, laid out the ball carrier and recovered the ball. I remember one story about his stepping on a copperhead in his bare feet at the lake that liked to have killed him. Many, many memories.

Our sympathy and condolences to Kem's entire family on his passing. Although I have not seen him in many years, fond memories abound of our gatherings at Aunt Essie and Uncle Milton's home on Home Avenue in Hartsville. I see Kem playing Tarzan while hanging on to a vine and swinging across The Cave.
