Joseph A. Lokitis, Jr., age 85, of Norton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at the Garden Place Healthcare in Attleboro. He was the beloved husband of Priscilla (Austin) Lokitis, to whom he was wed on June 24, 2006.
Born in Norwood, MA on May 10, 1935, he was a devoted son of the late Joseph A., Sr. and Mary J. (Ivoskus) Lokitis.
Joe grew up in Sharon, Canton and Norton. He was a graduate of Monsignor Coyle High School in Taunton and had made his home in Norton for most of his life.
Prior to retiring, Mr. Lokitis had been employed as an Arborist for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. A communicant of Saint Mary's Church in Norton, he enjoyed spending time with his family, anything pertaining to nature, gardening, tending to his vegetable gardens, camping and maintaining a special place in his heart for animals.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his dear siblings: Michael Lokitis of Norton, Mary Wray of Virginia, Rose Lokitis of Norton, Joan Borowicz of Belchertown, Leone Skamarakas of North Carolina, Diane Morse of North Attleboro, Katherine Lokitis of New Hampshire, Marianne Lokitis of New Bedford and the late David Lokitis. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Friday, February 19th at 11:00 A.M. in Saint Mary's Church, 1 Power Street, Norton. Burial will be held at a later date at the Timothy Plain Cemetery in Norton and visiting hours are omitted.
