HOLLEY, KATHLEEN McKEONE, 86, of Attleboro, MA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 22, 2020. Kathleen was born June 15, 1934 in the Town of Kingscourt, County Cavan (Ulster Province) in Ireland. Kathleen lost her parents Thomas and Margaret (Hand) while she was very young and then was raised by her Aunt Molly.
In her mid-teens, Kathleen moved to Dublin to work as a live-in domestic servant. She next moved to London where she met her husband, Sean Holley, from County Limerick, Ireland, marrying in 1956. Kathleen gave birth to her first son, John, in 1957, and the family of three emigrated to America in 1958. She initially lived in Pawtucket, RI and then Attleboro, MA in the house on Florence Street where she lovingly raised her children and lived the rest of her days. Kathleen liked the simple life and appreciated quiet peaceful days drinking tea in her backyard while enjoying the sunshine and natures curious beauty. She leaves behind her sons Steven Holley of Attleboro and Kevin Holley and his wife, Kay, of North Attleboro, and cherished grandchildren Shannon, Erin, Shaun, and Steven. Kathleens husband, Sean, passed in 2012, and her oldest son, John, predeceased her in 1975. She was the dear sister of Nicholas, James, Thomas, Rose, Mary, and Anna. Funeral arrangements are private. If you wish, donations in Kathleens Memory may be made to Attleboros St. John The Evangelist Church or The National Shrine of Our Lady of La Salette. https://attleborocatholicsstjohn.weshareonline.org/ws/opportunities/OneTimeDonation https://lasaletteattleboroshrine.org/give

Sending sincere sympathy to our cousins Kevin and Steven and their families. Your Mom was an exceptional lady. My sisters and I loved visiting your family on Florence Street. Aunt Kathleen always welcomed us with a warm greeting, beautiful smile and her unmistakable brogue. I have so many great memories of Aunt Kathleen. I remember to this day how much I loved watching her get ready to go out. Her hair was perfect and I recall always loving her pocketbooks. I watched her put on her lipstick and most of all I remember her rubbing Jergen's Lotion on her hands. She always saw me watching her.
She would smilie at me, take my hands in hers and share her lotion with me. Her hands were so soft and warm. That's a memory I will always cherish. To this day the sight of that lotion and it's sweet smell brings back treasured memories of her. Rest peacefully Aunt Kathleen.

Prayers and Love to you Steven, Kevin, and Family. I remember going to visit on Florence Street when we were little, but mostly I remember the many times that Aunt Kathleen came to visit and check on Mom at the house on Blaisdell Avenue. Sometimes she would come with Uncle Sean, but many times just her. I remember her amazing smile and laugh. And I remember thinking through the years that she never seemed to age. I remember loving her Irish brogue, that always sounded stronger to me than Mom’s. I remember fondly many hours that Mom and Aunt Kathleen would sit at the kitchen table drinking tea, eating cookies or Irish bread, and chatting. She was always very sweet to me. Rest In Peace Aunt Kathleen.
