Sheila Miller (Murphy) 64 years , of Mansfield MA passed away peacefully on January 7 after a brief illness, surrounded by her family. She leaves her loving husband of 36 years, Drew Miller, her daughter Julie Miller - Erskine, son-in-law Robbie Erskine and grandson Oliver.

She is also survived by her sister Dr. Marlene Murphy-Setzko and brother-in-law Steve Setzko, her brother David Murphy and sister-in- law Gwen Murphy, as well as her niece Jessica Batten and her husband Aaron and nephews Sam Murphy, Jacob Setzko and Kevin Setzko.

Sheila worked as the Town Nurse for the Sharon, MA Department of Health for over 25 years. Prior to that she was Director of Nursing at the Doolittle Home in Foxborough, MA. and was an Assistant Nurse Manager at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT.

She will always be remembered for her high energy, positive spirit and her limitless generosity to others. She always put others first and brought happiness and comfort to everyone she met. She was an individual who had a truly positive impact on the world.

Always up for an adventure, she travelled to Central America, Australia and Europe several times, earning the nickname from her daughter of "Safari Sal". Sheila was a regular visitor to DisneyWorld in both Orlando and Paris and generously shared her love of the park with neighborhood children.

She was a world-class baker and avid knitter and always had her family waiting for the next delivery of her amazing cookies and new blankets.

There is no memorial service planned. The family requests that in remembrance of her life well lived that donations be made in her name to The Mansfield Animal Shelter or the Sharon, MA Fire Department.

I am so very sorry about Sheila. I feel so deeply sad about her death and for her family. She was a rare type of person. We shared nurse stories, cancer and our grandboy milestones since I have 1 the same age as Oliver. I'm so blessed to have known Sheila. Her memory will always be a blessing. My condolences to the entire family.

Julie and Mr. Miller,
We are thinking of you during this extremely difficult time. I'll always remember walking into your house welcomed by Mrs. Miller yelling "G-Unit!" So many memories of sleepovers and beach trips. She was an amazing person and she will be so missed.

I had the pleasure of working with Sheila for the past four years and, despite the short time frame, knew well what a warm, caring, and thoughtful person she was. She was generous with her baked goods, her smiles and her time and is so missed already. May her memory always be a blessing.

I am so sorry to hear of Sheila's passing. She worked very closely with the Council on Aging/Adult Center staff and residents of the town and all adored her, laughed at her no-nonsense "roll up your sleeves -time for your flu shot" or whatever the advice was - and it was always good. She was fun, she was serious, she was a wonderful colleague and friend. She will be missed by all.

Dear Drew, Julie and Family,
There are not enough words to express my sorrow. My heart goes out to you all. I had the pleasure of working with Sheila for all of the time she was with the Town of Sharon but in addition to being coworkers I called her my friend. She was a force to be reckoned with, in a good way. She kept us all in line and was available to anyone who needed her for anything. She was a treasure and I will truly miss her beautiful smile, her generosity and her unfailing sense of humor.

Drew, Julie and Family,
Our deepest sympathy to you. Our prayers are with you during this time of sorrow.
Sheila was the most loving, compassionate, caring friend,
any one could ask for. We loved her
very much and she will be in our hearts forever. Sheila will be missed, but never forgotten.
Sheila was our town nurse and her office was down the hall from my office. She would keep us informed of flu shots and do blood pressure checks when needed. Sheila was truly a dedicated nurse and always put in 150%. She was the best and no one can ever replace what she did for everyone she came in contact.
God will take excellent care of our angel.
Rest In Peace.

Deepest sympathy to the Miller and Murphy families. Sheila's passing leaves such an empty spot in this world! I worked with Sheila at St Francis and knew each patient would receive the best care any nurse could give. Her upbeat attitude and Irish humor got us all through some difficult times. God Bless you, my friend, and may He shine his face on you.
You will always be in our hearts!

Heartbroken that Sheila has passed. She was a great friend and helped me through a few rough spots with her medical advice and prodding that I take better care of myself. The world, and the Town of Sharon, has lost a true hero. Always put others first and always had a smile and a laugh.
She is truly missed. Sincere sympathy to Drew, Julie, David and Marlene and to all who loved her.

I only knew Sheila a short while through our Tai Chi class. She would often talk of her daughter, so proud of her and her family. If Sheila wasn't in class it was usually because she was 'skipping' and spending time with them. She had a genuine interest in my daughter who is currently a nursing student. Her seasoned advice was well appreciated. Sheila and I would often take jabs (jokingly) at each other during class. She could dish it out and take it. Her sense of humor, humility, and always thinking of others will be missed. My condolences to the family.

I was fortunate to work along side Sheila in Sharon for all but her last year and a half there. She was the kind of person that made a workplace into a community. I came to see her one day a couple of decades ago not feeling well. She quickly noted that my heart rate was off and sent for an ambulance. In the years that followed as I received medical advice from my doctors I would always come back and talk to Sheila about it. She would patiently explain the logic of what had been recommended and helped me understand and accept it. She checked my blood pressure and heart rate regularly and kept a record of it that was very helpful to my doctors. She did all that with a sense of humor and great kindness. She was simply a wonderful person.

I hope she knew how much she meant to so many people. She was a mother to us all at the fire department. Dedicated, loyal, and loving, she embodied empathy. The lives of those who knew her were made better because she was in it. I know that I am a better person for having known her. "Her ansence is like the sky, spread over everything" - C.S. Lewis.
