ALTON - Helen Ann Rhea (Frison), 91, received eternal rest and peace on Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at 10:08 p.m. at Eunice Smith Nursing Home.

She was born on Sept. 1, 1922, in Jackson, Tenn., the daughter of John Henry Rhea and Irene Thomas.

Helen worked for the Milnor family of Alton for over 60 years where, over time, she became a member of the family and more. Helen was a member of Webster Temple Church of God in Christ where she became Sunday School Superintendent Emeritus and Church Mother Emeritus.

Mother Helen Frison is survived by her sister, Icy Gines of Kansas City, Mo., and her brother, Nathaniel Frison and his wife, Pearl of Edwardsville, Ill.; godchildren, Jureatha Mays and James "Jake" Ryrie Norton, and the Milnor family and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, George Henry Frison and Rev. Sylvester Frison; two infant brothers; and two sisters, Mary Frison and Mother Ida (Frison) Cunningham.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 19, at Webster Temple Church of God in Christ in Alton, with Pastor Watson officiating and Elder Governor Harris to deliver the eulogy. Burial: Upper Alton Cemetery.
