Lisa Marie Liotta, 49, of Tunkhannock, went to her eternal rest on Wednesday, October 2.

She was the daughter of Donald and Nancy Stevens Liotta. She was the mother of a very special son, Michael Anthony Jude Bardzel. She is survived by her brother, Don and his wife, Jane and their children, Katelyn, Elizabeth Anne and David; sister, Cheryl Evans and her husband, Jack, and daughter, Hannah; sister, Kimberly Dippel and husband, Jerry, and children, Jeremy and Alyssa; and sister, Kate Liotta and her partner, Samantha Burkhardt, with whom she was living until her death. She was preceded in death by her brother, Edward.

Lisa worked at Mercy Hospital for over 30 years in various departments and for the past nine years served as a nurse anesthetist. She was a devoted caregiver to all of her patients. She had three kidney transplants, the most recent last year. She fought all her life to survive and overcame her own illness every day to help someone in her care. She was highly respected by her peers in the medical field for her dedicated work in helping others. Her life was much too short, but she lived life to the fullest each and every day. She was a member of BVM Church in Tunkhannock and longtime devotee of St. Ann.

The family would like to thank Dr. Henry Yeager, who took care of her for 37 years as if she was his own daughter and they are very grateful for all of his loving care. The family would also like to thank Debbie Smith-Sudo, George Waldenmayer and Uncle Lou for their devotion to her and her son, Michael.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, October 7 at 9:30 a.m. by Rev. the Cyril Edwards at Mary Mother of God Parish (Holy Rosary). Viewing, Sunday, October 6, 2 to 5 p.m., at Knight-O'Donnell Funeral Home on William St. Memorial donations may be made to Mary Mother of God Parish.

Friends attending the funeral are asked to go directly to the church.
