Gerald Neutts, 59, of Scranton, died Sunday in Northeast Regional Home Health and Hospice. His wife is the former Mary Ellen Mokis Neutts; the couple celebrated 38 years of marriage on Sept. 22.

Born in Taylor, son of Elizabeth Shivak Whiting, Scranton, and the late Joseph Neutts, Gerald was a member of St. Ann's Basilica. He was educated in Scranton public schools and was a graduate of West Scranton High School, class of 1970.

He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. Prior to his illness, he had been employed by Dunmore Oil for 31 years. He enjoyed building model ships, fishing and watching professional wrestling. Gerald was a loving and devoted husband and father who will be deeply missed.

Also surviving are a daughter, Tammy Michelle Neutts, Scranton; nephews and cousins.

The funeral will be Wednesday from the Thomas J. Hughes Funeral Home Inc., 1240 St. Ann's St., Scranton, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Ann's Basilica. Interment, St. Michael's Cemetery, Scranton. Friends may call Tuesday, 4 to 8 p.m.
