Dr. John K. Frank Jr., 76, passed into the kingdom of his Lord and Savior on June 5, 2018, after a brief but valiant battle with leukemia.

The son of John K. Sr. and Ida Frank, Jack, as he was known, spent his early years in Mount Carmel, Pa.

Jack graduated from Susquehanna University. He met his then-future wife, the former Nancy Pickering, at the Devereux Foundation, where they were both summer camp counselors. He worked at Allentown State Hospital, Friendship House, Scranton, and as director of Child Advocacy Services, Harrisburg. He then graduated from Penn State's Physician Assistant program at Hershey Medical Center, and worked in private practice. He later earned a doctorate in psychology and began to counsel adoptive families. He also adopted children into his own family, whom he loved. He traveled extensively conducting seminars and workshops to help families with older adopted children.

Eventually Jack's ultimate career opportunity became a reality, and he accepted the position of CEO of Gerard of Minnesota, a psychiatric facility for troubled teens. Occasionally, however, life's circumstances take us on a journey that was never planned or anticipated. In spite of that unexpected situation, Jack's faith never wavered; he served and gave unconditionally to those around him, finding God's joy even in the most difficult of days.

Jack is survived by his wife, Nancy, Lake Ariel, Pa.; his son, Jack III and wife, Lou Ann, Shavertown, and grandson, Shane; his daughter, Christa and husband, Robert, Philadelphia, and their sons, Ethan and Connor.
