It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph John Koezeno Jr. after battling a series of illnesses. He passed away in hospice on Wednesday, Nov. 27, at age 62.

The family would like to give their thanks for all of the love, care and support that was given in his final days to Allied Hospice Services. He was born and raised in New Jersey and has resided in Jermyn, Pa., for more than 40 years.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph John Koezeno Sr. Joe will be remembered by his mother, Janet Koezeno; brothers, Jim and Jerry Koezeno; sister, Jackie Atkinson; loving wife, Sharon; his three daughters, Amy Meza, Lisa and Celina Koezeno; and Nathan Shamon, who was considered family. Joseph will also be remembered by his five grandchildren, Brandon, Marissa and Emilia Meza, and Ciara and Liam Starbuck. He was a passionate lover of the outdoors, enjoying activities such as: hunting, fishing, fixing cars, playing pool, cracking jokes and spending time with his loved ones. He always had a special place in his heart for his pets and all animals and now shares a beloved place above with his favorite comrades.

Joseph requested cremation services and arrangements were made privately. No public services will be held and any donations that wish to be sent in lieu of flowers can be made to your local animal shelter.

Arrangements and on-site cremation are under the care and direction of the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Ave., Scranton.
