Kenneth G. Regan of Scranton died at the age of 79, on Thursday, Aug. 29, at home, surrounded by his loving family after fighting a courageous two-year battle with colorectal cancer. He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Mary Margaret Tighe Regan.

Born in Scranton, son of the late Kenneth and Genevieve Tabellion Regan, Kenneth graduated from West Scranton High School and then served in the United States Reserve. He served for 30 years on the Scranton Fire Department. Upon retirement, he worked at Boscov's.

Kenneth enjoyed sports of all kinds, including Yankees baseball, NASCAR racing, Penguins hockey, as well as hunting with his father and grandson. Ken's greatest joy in life was his grandchildren. He never missed a soccer game, baseball game, track meet, dance recital, art show and all honors programs.

The family would like to thank Dr. Paul Remick and Allied Services Hospice Team for the kindness they showed Kenneth.

He is also survived by his two daughters, Rosemary Phillips and husband, Corey, Clarks Summit; and Joan Marie Brundage and husband, Paul, Jefferson Twp. Ken's five grandchildren, Evan, Brenna and Grace Phillips, and Amanda and Jacob Brundage meant the world to him. Also surviving are two sisters, Delores Dixon and Mary Ann Regan, Clarks Summit.

The funeral will be conducted on Saturday, with a memorial service to be held at 10 a.m. at the Edward Knight O'Donnell Funeral Home, 323 William St., Scranton. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment, Abington Hills Cemetery.
