Lawrence T. Cerep Obituary
Lawrence T. Cerep, 74, Minneapolis, Minn., formerly of Scranton, died Aug. 16 after an illness.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Lawrence S. Cerep and Mildred Grogan Cerep Sparacino, who died in July. He attended South Catholic High School and was a graduate of Johnson School of Technology. While serving with the Peace Corps, he installed a well system in India. Larry also worked for Modern Machine in South Scranton and was a contractor in the homebuilding and construction industry before retirement.

He enjoyed fishing and remote-controlled airplanes and had a very powerful faith and never missed Mass.

He is survived by a sister, Mari Walsh and husband, Richard, Minooka; stepbrothers, David and wife, Diana Sparacino, Scranton; and Donald Sparacino, Stroudsburg; two sisters-in-law, Joan and Joyce Cerep, Scranton; an aunt, Gladys MacDonald, Scranton; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers, James and Thomas Cerep.

In accordance with his wishes, he has been cremated.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Divine Mercy Parish at St. Joseph's Church, 312 Davis St., celebrated by the Rev. Francis Pauselli, pastor, immediately followed by interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Kitchen, 500 Penn Ave., Scranton, PA 18503.
