Roy "Fuzzy" Schaffer, Sterling, died Sunday at the Allied Skilled Nursing Center after an illness.

Born in Scranton in 1954, son of Charlotte Hollister Schaffer, Sterling, and the late Eugene H. Schaffer, he attended the Jericho Independent Church and had been employed by Arlington Industries. He had been a member of the Hamlin Fire and Rescue Company and loved to hunt and fish.

Also surviving are sons, James, Sterling; and Anthony, New York; sisters, Eileen Smilnak, Scott Twp.; and Louise Mulea, Elizabethville; brothers, Chris, Sterling; Carl, Maplewood; and Lloyd, Sterling; three grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family in the Jericho Independent Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hamlin Fire and Rescue Company, 582 Hamlin Highway, P.O. Box 116, Hamlin, PA 18427.
