Alfred M. Parry

Alfred M. Parry, 72, of Leesburg, Fla., formerly of Allentown, died Wednesday in Leesburg Regional Medical Center. He was the husband of Fay A. Lerch George-Parry. They celebrated their 24th wedding anniversary in April.

Born in Scranton, son of the late Alfred H. and Grace Bradshaw Parry, Al worked at Air Products and Chemicals, Trexlertown, for 30 years before retiring in 1993 as supervisor in the construction-estimating department. He also worked as a draftsman and project engineer.

Al was a member of the PAARNG and served as 1SG with Company C, 103rd Medical Battalion in Allentown. He also served with the District of Columbia National Guard.

Al co-founded the Ancient Oak Youth Association and the Lehigh Valley Chapter of the American Society of Professional Estimators Association. He received his associate's degree in drafting from Penn State University. He was a member of Jordan Lodge 673 F&AM, Allentown.

Also surviving are two sons, Scott, Alburtis; and Alfred R., Allentown; a daughter, Donna Unangst, Alburtis; a brother, William K., Moscow; a sister, Carole L. Phillips, Lake Ariel; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two stepsons, Michael George, Rio Rancho, N.M.; and Scott George, Emmaus; and a stepdaughter, Kim Bell, Sinking Spring.

Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Trexler Funeral Home, 1625 Highland St., Allentown.
