Richard E. Hahn, 79, Covington Twp., died Wednesday at Hospice of the Sacred Heart Inpatient Unit in Dunmore after an illness. His wife of 59 years is the former Lynn M. Drouse.

Born Nov. 14, 1938, in Scranton, the son of the late Thomas and Cleeta (Schenck) Hahn, before retirement, Richard was employed as a production manager with Penthouse Meat Co. of Benton Twp. He was previously employed with Polarized Meats, Mass Feeding Corp. and Durkee Chicken Food Service.

He loved animals and working outside in his yard. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his children, Richard B. Hahn and wife, Monica, of Wilmington, Del.; Sandra Hahn-Morra and husband, Thomas, of Clifton, N.J.; David M. Hahn and companion, Nicole Brandt, of Moscow; and Mark D. Hahn of Covington Twp.; six grandchildren, Jennifer Goerlitz and husband, Joseph; Gregory Hahn, Mallory Hahn, David Hahn Jr., Richard J. Hahn and Lauren E. Hahn; four great-grandchildren, Rylie, Layla, Delaney and Mason; his sisters, Esther Thiel, Margaret Bulford, Eleanor Homcheck, Audrey McCauley; and many nieces and nephews.

Richard was also preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers.

A Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 220 Church St., Moscow.

Friends may call on Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. in Duffy & Snowdon Funeral Home, 401 Church St., Moscow. Entombment will be conducted privately at St. Catherine's Cemetery.
