Bill Snyder, 65, of Dagsboro, Del., formerly of Scranton, went home to be with the Lord after a brief illness on Monday, Dec. 3, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Scranton on Dec. 6, 1952, son of the late Donald and Kathryn (Kane) Snyder. Bill graduated from Scranton Prep in 1970 and attended college at the University of Scranton and University of Maryland.

Bill retired as the business manager at the Gino J. Merli Veterans Center in Scranton in 2015 with 22 years of service. After retiring and moving to southern Delaware, Bill enjoyed going to the beach with his wife, loved when the family came down for summer vacations, fishing and cheering for his beloved Baltimore Orioles. Bill was a faithful member of Dagsboro Community Church in Dagsboro. He also volunteered for various charitable organizations throughout the community and was always willing to help others. He was a man of strong faith, believing in the power and strength of Jesus Christ's love and the beauty of peace that awaited him in the Kingdom.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Mary Carol (Bonacci) Snyder; two daughters, Victoria Yanchek and husband, Stephen, Blakely, Pa.; and Jenifer Snyder, Scranton; a son, Mario Snyder, currently serving his country in the United States Navy in Japan; two stepdaughters, Melissa Strunk and husband, Michael, Ocean View, Del.; and Mallory Gallinot, Carbondale, Pa.; and eight grandchildren, Olivia Maroni, Karoline Yanchek, Sam Yanchek, Sophia Yanchek, Cameron Strunk, Emma Strunk, Isabella Lynady and Addisyn Peregrin. He is also survived by two brothers, Donald Snyder and wife, Jenny, Loveland, Colo.; Michael Snyder, Kensington, Md.; and a sister, Mary Snyder, of Kensington; along with the mother of his two daughters, Adele Snyder, Scranton.

A celebration of his life will be held beginning at 10 a.m. for condolences and a service at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 10 at the Crossroad Community Church, 20684 State Forest Road, Georgetown, DE 19947.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Bill's name to VITAS Hospice, 30265 Commerce Drive, Suite 202, Millsboro, DE 19966.
