Christopher David DeSando, 31, Scranton, died Sunday.

Born Dec. 7, 1986, in Scranton, the son of Paul and Lisa (Talarico) DeSando, he was a United States Marine Corps veteran, serving with forces beginning in 2005. He served two tours in Iraq during this time.

Christopher will be remembered for his charismatic personality, great sense of humor and his courage and loyalty to his country but, most of all, for the unwavering love that he had for his family. He was a devoted Yankees fan and loved watching the games with his Grandpa Ron. He was a selfless son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend. He consistently put others before himself. His beautiful smile and our countless memories with him will never be forgotten.

Surviving in addition to his parents are sisters, Heather DeSando and Peter Farrell, Dunmore; and Lauren DeSando, Scranton; grandparents, Ronald and Marie (Hummel) Talarico, Scranton; niece, Madison; aunts, Judy Domenick, Diane Reinbolt and husband, Russell; and Christine Micciche and husband, Mark; and cousins.

Christopher was also preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Joseph and Clara DeSando; and his aunt, Jean Ann Williams.
