Michael J. Hewitt Obituary
Michael J. Hewitt, 62, of Taylor, died peacefully Thursday morning at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Twp., surrounded by his loving family. His loving, devoted wife of 39 years is Mary Lynn Semian Hewitt.

Born Feb. 21, 1957, in Taylor, he was the son of the late Donald and Margaret Coleman Hewitt. Mike was a graduate of Riverside High School, class of 1976. He was a former member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Avoca, and a member of the Taylor American Legion, Post 306. He worked the past 17 years as a forklift operator for Azek Co., Moosic. The most important thing in Mike's life was his family. His pride and joy were his three sons, his adoring grandchildren, and he had a special bond with his loving daughters-in-law. A diehard Pittsburgh Pirates and N.Y. Jets fan, he always enjoyed baseball and football seasons every year. Mike was a true do-it-yourselfer, performing carpentry work and home projects, gardening, and building his beautiful firepit in his backyard. Mike enjoyed traveling with his wife on their many trips together.

The Hewitt family would like to thank the staff of Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital for its wonderful care of Michael.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Justin and wife, Jennifer, Moosic; Ryan and wife, Eleesha, Saratoga Springs, Utah; and Michael, Taylor; his adoring grandchildren, Abryana, Justin Jr., Ryan, Jamie, Makaela and Rylee Hewitt; his brothers, Donald Jr., Pittston; Jeffrey and wife, Lisa, Avoca; Brian and wife, Janine, Pittston Twp.; Paul and wife, Tammy, Rolesville, N.C.; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Hewitt.

Family and friends are invited to attend Mike's calling hours on Tuesday, Oct. 15, in the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St., Taylor, from 4 to 7 p.m., followed with services by Rev. James Whitman.
