Louise Gori McHale Obituary

Louise McHale, 89, of Jenkins Twp., formerly of Franklin, N.Y., passed on June 5, 2020.

Born in Scranton, Pa., Louise was a graduate of West Scranton High and was preceded in death in November 2019 by her husband of nearly 65 years, James H. McHale. Together, they raised four grateful children.

Louise worked in banking, but primarily spent her time raising a family. She was loving, devoted and supportive of her children and grandchildren. Louise was quick with numbers and not surprisingly, she was an avid bridge player. She was sharp of mind and energetic up to her last few weeks. An avid cook, she enjoyed time in the kitchen, a testament to her Italian heritage.

Louise created many memorable experiences with those she knew and loved. Whether at Lake Wallenpaupack (in the cottage built by Jim), cooking in her kitchen, or on the ski slopes, Louise made memories and encouraged her progeny to do the same.

Surviving are children, James Jr. (Tammy), Cedar Grove, N.C.; Martin D. (Jacqueline), Dallas, Pa.; Peggy Kinney (Erin), Middletown, Conn.; and Timothy, Arvada, Colo. They had 10 loving grandchildren, Aaron James, Brice (deceased), Chelsea, Rory, Jaime, Daniel, Lizzy, Connor, Claire and Mia. She also leaves her sister, Norma Weidner (Gary), Dalton, Pa.; along with many beloved nieces and nephews.

Given the current COVID-19 situation, a gathering to celebrate Louise's life will be scheduled at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to the Corcoran Funeral Home Inc., 20 S. Main St., Plains, PA 18705.
