Eva Jean Jones Obituary

Eva Jean Jones, a longtime resident of Clifford Twp., passed into heaven on Sunday. She was born in Noxen, on Nov. 14, 1926, to Edward and Anita Dendler.

Jean was predeceased by her parents; husband, Karl Jones; sister, Barbara Gee; and brother, Gerald Dendler.

She is survived by her daughter, Janet (Jim) Barvainis; son, Dennis (Eileen) Jones; grandchildren, Kate (Jess) Barvainis, Scott Barvainis, Janelle (Jonathan) Coleman, Matthew (Jen) Jones, William (Beth) Jones; and eight great-grandchildren.

Jean had a compassionate heart and an adventurous spirit. She and Karl had a wonderful life and traveled all over the country and beyond in their camper, on cruises and by other means. Those who knew Jean will remember her delicious fresh peach pies, lemon meringue pies and, of course, "Jean's beans." She was excellent at counted cross stitch and finished many beautiful pieces including her angel pictures. Jean and Karl loved to play cards with friends and host chicken barbecues as well as many Jones reunions at the Jones farm.

The family would like to mention a few "special angels" who provided wonderful and compassionate care to "Eva" at Vestal Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Thank you to Karissa, Cody, Kayla, Donna, Liz, Sara C, Jaeline, Anna, T and Lorraine. There were others who tried their best during difficult circumstances.

A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford. Calling hours will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Welsh Hill Cemetery, Union Dale. Those attending are kindly asked to wear a mask and follow social distancing rules.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made in Eva's name to the Clifford United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 89, Clifford, PA 18413.
