Jack Edward Alt Obituary

Jack Edward Alt, 87, a guest at St. Mary's Villa Nursing Home, died Saturday at Moses Taylor Hospital. He was preceded in death by his life partner, Evelyn Ambrose, on July 21, 2000.

Born in Madison Twp., he was the son of the late John and Jennie Biesecker Alt. After graduating from Moscow High School in 1952, he served in the United States Army and was currently a member of John J. Michaels Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5207 in Covington Twp. Before retiring, Jack worked as a truck driver for various companies. He had a voracious passion for restoring and collecting antique trucks.

Jack is survived by his sister, Nancy Parks, Lake Ariel; his nieces and nephews, Art, Bob, Jim, Gary, Diane, Tommy, Sue, Jerry, Linda, Barbara and David; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth Schall; brother, Floyd "Buck" Alt; and niece, Jennie Nauman.

The funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Brian Arthur Strauch Funeral Homes & Cremation Services LLC, 3 First St., Spring Brook Twp., to be celebrated by the Rev. Earl Trygar. Interment, committal prayers and military honors will follow at Fairview Memorial Park in Elmhurst Twp.

A viewing will be held Thursday from 9 to 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Mary's Villa Nursing Home, 516 St. Mary's Villa Road, Elmhurst Twp., PA 18444.
