John J. Donnini Sr. Obituary

John J. Donnini Sr., 77, of Moosic and formerly of Daleville, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2020, at home. Married on Feb. 23, 1963, to the former Theresa (Scaramazzini), the couple celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary this year.

Born in Dunmore, he was the son of the late Frank Sr. and Rose (Piesecki) Donnini. John graduated from Dunmore High School and proudly served in the United States Army. Before retiring in 1999, he worked as a truck driver for APA Transport. John was a member of the Church of St. Catherine of Siena in Moscow.

As an avid outdoorsman, John enjoyed searching for his next big buck or casting a line, patiently waiting for the next bite on his line. He also enjoyed woodworking. As a loving husband, dad and Pop Pop, his family will cherish the memories they've made through the years.

In addition to his wife, Theresa, John is survived by his children, John J. Donnini Jr. and his wife, Wendy; Lisa Sgobba and her husband, Mark; and Anthony Donnini and his wife, Melanie; his grandchildren, Mark, Dominique, Alyssa, Aidan, Tony and Vinnie; his sister, Jeanette Domenick; his brother, Frank Donnini Jr.; his granddogs, Joy and Bella; and several nieces and nephews.

John's family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of the Sacred Heart for the kindness and compassion that was afforded to him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Oct. 31, at 9:30 a.m. in the Church of St. Catherine of Siena, 220 Church St., Moscow, to be celebrated by the Rev. Robert J. Simon. Interment with Rite of Committal and military honors will follow in St. Catherine's Cemetery in Covington Twp.

Arrangements are entrusted to Brian Arthur Strauch Funeral Homes and Cremation Services LLC in Spring Brook Twp. To share your fondest memories of John, please visit the funeral home's website or Facebook page.
