We are so sad to say our dear mother Josette Schwerdt lost a month long battle with COVID-19 early Wednesday morning on Jan. 6. She was only 71 years young. Josette was a devoted and loving wife and beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed her family and raising her children, and a simple life as a homemaker for most of her adult life. She will be deeply missed every day until we all are joined together again at home in Heaven. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Josephine Marello, of Brooklyn, New York; and her beloved husband of 42 years, Richard Joseph Schwerdt, whom she was always devoted to. She is survived by her three daughters, MaryAnn Cavanaugh and her husband, Joe, of Archbald, Pa.; Eileen Demchuk, of Hawley, Pa.; Vanessa Schwerdt, of Wilkes-Barre, Pa.; and her six grandchildren, Nicholas Demchuk, Tiffany Demchuk, Andrew Demchuk, Ashley Demchuk, Jack Cavanaugh and Cali Cavanaugh; and her two great-grandchildren, Luna and Willow; her sister, Cathleen Louttit, of Montgomery, N.Y.; and also several nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, Jan. 16, at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Archbald, Pa. All family and friends are welcome and invited to attend. Arrangements by the Harrison Funeral Home, 374 N. Main St., Archbald.
