Paul Latzanich Obituary

Paul Latzanich, 86, of Mount Pocono, died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2021, at Grace Park in Stroudsburg. He was the loving husband of 55 years to the late Marie S. (Siegel) Latzanich, who passed away in 2019.

Born in Dunmore, he was a son of the late Michael and Anna (Juba) Latzanich.

A proud veteran, he served with the United States Army Reserves. During his working career, Paul, along with his wife, Marie, owned the Quik Shop in Mount Pocono for many years, and spent their winters in Lauderdale by the sea in Florida. He was an avid gardener, loved European river boat travel, his daughters and grandchildren, a hard days work followed by a cold beer and a good polka.

He is survived by his daughters, Dr. Carol Latzanich-Kissell and her husband, Dr. Scott Kissell, of Cresco; and Donna Stone and her husband, Dr. Jonathan Stone, of Villanova; sister-in-law, Audrey Latzanich, of Venice, Florida; grandchildren, Krista and Colin Kissell and Ava and Sean Stone; and numerous nieces, nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers and their wives, Michael; John and his wife, Nancy; and George and his wife, Theresa.

The Rev. Father Robert Lozinski will celebrate a Divine funeral Liturgy at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, at St. Michael's Byzantine Church, 511 E. Drinker St., Dunmore. Burial will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery, O'Neill Highway, Dunmore.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church, 511 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, PA 18512; or St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, P.O. Box 515, Pocono Summit, PA 18346.
