Louise Brown (nee Walker), 91, passed away Tuesday at Lackawanna Health and Rehab Center. She was the widow of Frank Brown, who passed in 2002.

Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Stanley and Martha Mellon Walker, Louise was a lifelong resident of Scranton and a proud graduate of St. Patrick's High School, Marywood University and the University of Scranton. Much of her life was dedicated to her own love of books, the arts, knowledge and to the education of others as a guidance counselor at West Scranton High School. She was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Church.

Surviving are her two children: daughter, Terry Mullaney and her husband, William, of New Jersey; and son, Michael Brown and his wife, Jacqueline, of Clarks Summit. Louise will be lovingly remembered by her five grandchildren, Clare and Laura Mullaney and Aidan, Ella and Alexander Brown.

She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Adele Laboranti and Janet McNulty.

Due to COVID-19 precautions, a memorial service will be scheduled for a later date. Arrangements by McGoff-Hughes Funeral Home Inc., 1401 Capouse Ave., Scranton.

Memorial contributions may be made to the or Americans for the Arts.
