Patricia A. Ahern died Sunday, Jan. 17, 2021, at Mountain View Care Center after a long illness. Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Irving and Anita Cotter Haen. She was married for 22 years to her husband, Thomas Ahern. She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish and retired from Bell Telephone and Verizon as an operator for 25 years. She enjoyed taking long walks, dancing and traveling. A big joy in her life was shopping. Surviving, besides her husband, are one son, Brian and wife, Alysia Loftus; one sister, Donna and husband, Michael Stuchlak; two grandchildren, Brandon and Amelia Loftus; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Kevin Loftus; and one brother, Thomas Haen. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery. The family wishes to thank Mountain View Care Center and its staff for all they did for Patricia as well as Dr. Nicholas Dodge and Dr. Kenneth Sebastianelli for their compassionate care during her illness. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Eagen-Hughes Funeral Home, 2908 Birney Ave., Scranton. Memorial contributions can be made to the or the donor's favorite charity.
