Joseph M. Bianca died Sunday, Jan. 17, 2021, at the Mountain View Care Center. Born in Scranton on Oct. 29, 1953, son of the late Joseph F. and Frances Bianca, he worked at Allied Services for more than 20 years before retiring in 2017. A natural athlete, he excelled at many sports growing up. Joe won many area golf tournaments before graduating Central High School in 1971. He also attended Keystone Junior College. Joe was dedicated to the Rosary, loved a good pizza, watching football with his friends and attending Mass at St. Peter's Cathedral. Surviving are a sister, Joanne, Scranton; two brothers, Robert (Marie), El Paso, Texas; and Tom (Susan), Camp Hill, Pennsylvania; niece, Ann; nephews, Alex and Michael (Becky); and great-nephew, Anthony. The funeral will be conducted Thursday from the Solfanelli-Fiorillo Funeral Home Inc., 1030 N. Main Ave., Scranton, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Peter's Cathedral, 315 Wyoming Ave. Entombment will follow in St. Catherine's Cemetery Mausoleum, Moscow. Friends and family may pay their respects Thursday at the funeral home from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Social distancing guidelines will be enforced and face masks will be required.
