James "Bo" Brunozzi Obituary

James "Bo" Brunozzi, 80, of Jessup, passed away unexpectedly Monday morning at Moses Taylor Hospital after being stricken ill at home. His wife of 60 years is the former Joyce Menichetti.

Born in Jessup, he was the son of the late Armand and Frances Larioni Brunozzi. He was a graduate of Jessup High School and was owner and operator of Brunozzi Trucking. He was also airport superintendent at

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Airport and retired as an aide to Sen. Robert Mellow. He was a lifelong Jessup resident, as well as an honorary citizen of Gubbio, Italy. He was a 36-year member of the Jessup Council, 29 years as president. He was a member of St. Mary's Assumption Church, Jessup, now known as Queen of Angels Parish, a lifetime member of the Jessup Carbino Club, Jessup Hose Company 2, the Jessup Golf league, Family of St. Anthony, the Brotherhood of St. Anthony, Buckhorn Rod and Gun Club, vice president of St. John's cemetery, Operation Noel, Club 100 and Knights of Columbus Council 10729.

He was an all around loving, loyal, honorable and devoted man who enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a hard worker and would help anyone in need at any time. He loved attending his grandchildren's extra-curricular sporting events and would never miss a game. He enjoyed going for coffee with his coffee buddy, Tommy Alunni, and enjoyed going to the Valley View girls basketball games. He was an avid bowler and baseball player with a wicked curve ball! He was proud to be a lifelong Jessup resident and took pride in caring for the town. He will be terribly missed by all who knew him and he will forever be in our hearts.

Also surviving are his three daughters and son, Robin Ploskonka and husband, Louie, Peckville; Jill Kozuch and husband, Joe; James Brunozzi Jr.; and Heather Brunozzi Martin and husband, Robbie, all of Jessup; a brother, Armand, Somers Point, N.J.; a brother-in-law, Amerigo "Miggsy" Menichetti and wife, Betty, Davenport, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Lois Brunozzi, Jessup; five grandchildren, Sumer, Joseph, Jordan, Spencer and Milana; and several nieces and a nephew, with whom he was very close with.

The funeral will be Thursday from the Louis M. Margotta Funeral Home, 511 Church St., Jessup, with Mass of Christian Burial at 4 p.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, Peckville, Interment, St. John's Cemetery, Jessup.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 3:45 p.m. All CDC guidelines will be strictly adhered to and masks must be worn.
