Brenda L. Williams

Brenda L. Williams, 52, a lifelong resident of Scranton, died late Thursday.

Born in Scranton, daughter of Louise Parker Williams, Scranton, and stepdaughter of the late Howard E. Williams, she was a member of Bethel AME Church. She was a 1974 graduate of Scranton Technical High School and attended Mansfield College and Marywood College before enlisting in the Air Force.

A devoted mother, she was a very friendly and loving person who was well loved by all who knew her. She was an accomplished musician.

Also surviving are her daughter, Alana E. Parker-Williams, Scranton; two brothers, Myron B. Williams and wife, Donna, Cliffwood, N.J.; David Jackson and wife, Jennifer, Jessup; two sisters, Rhonda J. Williams, Harrisburg; and M. Ellen Williams, Scranton; nieces, nephews and a host of cousins.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Bethel AME Church, 714 N. Washington Ave., Scranton, by the Rev. Mildred Taylor, pastor. Interment will be in Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.

Friends may call Monday, 7 to 9 p.m., at the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Ave., and Tuesday, 10 to 11, at Bethel AME Church.
