Bill Long was a life-long school friend of my father who died in 2000. I got in touch with Bill early in 2017, and enjoyed a long and interesting telephone conversation about his life at Rock Ferry, and his memories of the War. He indicated that he has kept his personal history quiet, so I was very honoured to be allowed to share some of his memories. I never met Bill, but I have known about him all my life. I am so sad that the link is now broken. Rest in peace, Bill.
