William H. Allen Marine City William H. Allen, 79, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, August 11, 2012. He was born in Horton, Kansas on February 1, 1933, a son to the late Richard V. and Maude (Huffman) Allen. He married Pat O'Toole on December 8, 1972 in Marine City. Bill was a longtime area businessman who owned and operated Bill's Duck Inn in Marine City. He served his country faithfully as a member of the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and cooking, but most of all spending time with his family. Surviving are his wife, Pat; children, Richard and Christopher Severson, Susan Wismer, Patricia Allen-Murphy and Julie Allen Gilbert; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; a brother and two sisters. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers. A Celebration of Life Service will be on Wednesday, August 15, 2012, at 12 Noon in Algonac Baptist Church 1003 Washington Street, Algonac, MI 48001 and Bill's family will receive visitors on Wednesday in the church from 10 a.m. - 12 Noon with arrangements entrusted to Bower-Rose Funeral Home, Marine City. www.bowerrosefuneralhome.com Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be made directly to the family.

Grandma Pat and family: I'm so sorry for your loss. Grandpa Bill was a great man. I only got to see him once or twice while married to Richie, but I'll never forget him. I'm glad that I got to meet him, and more importantly that Emily did as well. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Am so sorry to hear of Bill's passing. I remember him well from my many visits to the Duck Inn when I was in town. Particularly remember one time when Judy Leonard, Sharon Smith and I met for lunch around noon and were still there at 5! He was so sweet and let us just gab away. In fact, think at one time you joined us for awhile. My prayers are with you and your family.
